Þorrablót, 6th of February

Next Friday, the 6th of February ESN Reykjavík and the Office of International Education at University of Iceland are holding a Þorrablót. Basically, it’s a party where we eat some very interesting food and get really, very.. merry...

The price is only 1500 kr, but you need to sign up at the ESN website and pay before 12:00 pm. on Thursday, February 5th. There is also a special deal if you bring your buddy, so please contact your buddy and ask them to come with you.

Hello,

ESN representatives will be at Ofanleiti tomorrow 28. of January in front of the cafeteria to sell the ESN membership cards. They will be there between 12:00 and 13:30. The membership card gives you an discount on ESN trips and a lot of other things. The card costs 2000 kr and if you want you can get a free TAL mobile phone card.

Þorrablót !! nice food or not ?

I just wanted to know how many are interested in going to a real Icelandic Þorrablót and get the real Icelandic taste of how it was here before.. ;)

Gym - cards :)

Well all of you, I have the gym card offer for you.

It is 25.000 kr. for 6 months at Sporthúsið.
It is at Dalsmári 9-11 in Kópavogur. You can see the bus route at the picture. You take route number 1 or 2 from the bus stop on the big street to left from Ofanleiti.

At Sporthúsið they have kick boxing, jump fit, cross-fit, football and a gym with the normal gym machines.

You can get a haircut, go to a solarium, sauna or a hot tub and have a boost or protein shake after a good time in the gym.

Just let me know at snjolaug06@ru.is and I will talk to the people in Sporthúsið and let them know you are going to come and get a gym card.

We would like to let you try one kick box class, best would be if you went together in a group and Erla the kick boxing teacher will teach the class in English if you would want that.

Kick boxing is at 18.30 on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Payment for Akureyri

Hi everyone,

There seems to be a litle misunderstanding about where and when you must pay for the trip. You have to pay for the trip at the Orientation tomorrow Thursday the 15th of January in room 303 Ofanleiti from 11:50 - 12:50. We will be there to take payment from you at the end of the orientation. The price is 10.500 kr and it is best if you bring that in cash.

Trip to Akureyri - 3days to go!!

Hey there guys,

About the trip to Akureyri, you will have to bring the 10.500,- in cash on Thursday, at noon at the meeting.

There is no breakfast included in the price but very close by is a 10-11 store where we can buy something on the way to Hlíðarfjall J.

We will need to know on Thursday if you want to eat at Greifinn Restaurant, there will be a Mexican fajitas buffet for 2.000,- on Saturday.

What to bring to Akureyri
- Warm clothing (because it’s going to be really cold and there will be a lot of snow).
- Swimsuits
- Camera
- Party clothes!!
- Toothbrush :)
- Condoms (we will not help you with that)
- Skis or snowboard if you have one, if not you can rent one in Hlíðarfjall (see price below)
- The good mood :)

Tickets in Hlíðarfjall:
2 hour ticket on skis 1.210,-

Trip to Akureyri

Hey there guys, this is the plan for the weekend in Akureyri.

Friday 16.01

We should all show up at 9:30 at Kringlan (MBL) (the same place as the pizza-party)

We will make few stops on the way since everybody hates busses ;)
First at Staðarskáli for quick lunch for those that want one.. Then at Varmahlíð for a short stop. Then we believe we will be in Akureyri around 6 o’clock.

We will eat at Strikið at 19.30, where delicious pizzas will wait for us and all kinds of offers on the bar.

After that, we will attend a party with the University of Akureyri at a bar called Kaffi Akureyri.

And the party goes on till we go to sleep ;)

Saturday 17.01

At 11.30 we will show up at the bus stop and take a bus that will drive us to Hlíðarfjall, there will be a bus back at 5 o’clock. At Hlíðarfjall we will play some fun games and those that want to can rent skis or snowboards and have fun in the snow ;)

After a hard day of playing games and skiing everybody will go to the swimming pool and relax. (6 o’clock)

We will have dinner at Greifinn restaurant around half past seven.

In the night there will be a big party at Sjallinn, where some good DJ’s will play for us until we can’t dance any longer ;)

Show up at the bus station at 1 o’clock and drive back to Reykjavík
